Privacy Policy

Whose Closet (“we”, “us”) is a style-sharing site at whosecloset.com where members post outfits, add their clothes, share where they got them, and find deals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, username, email address, and your full address: street, apartment, city or town, state or region, country, and ZIP or postal code. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- What you post: photos of outfits and clothes, captions, shop links, comments, mixes, deals, likes and follows.
- Messages: private messages are end-to-end encrypted in your browser. We store them only in encrypted form and cannot read them.
- Shop-link clicks: when you tap a Shop link, we count the click (which piece, which store, and your account if you are signed in) so we can see which links are popular.
- Visits: we count visits to understand how the site is used: when a visit starts and ends, how many pages were viewed, the site that sent you (for example Instagram or Google), and whether you’re on a phone or computer. Only our admins can see these numbers.
- Device storage: we use your browser’s local storage and cookies to keep you signed in and remember simple preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
What others can see
Your username, name, profile photo, bio, town, state or region and country, and everything you post are visible to other visitors. Your email address, street address and ZIP or postal code are private: only you and the site administrators can see them.
How we use your information
- To run your account and show your closet, posts and shop links.
- To send your welcome email and occasional account-related messages.
- To power AI features: when you use the AI stylist or photo tagging, the photos and text you submit are sent to our AI provider to generate a response.
- To keep the community safe, fix problems and understand which features and links people use.
We do not sell your personal information.
Services we rely on
- Google Firebase (accounts, database, photo storage and server functions), data stored in the United States.
- Netlify (website hosting).
- Anthropic (AI features), which processes what you submit to those features.
- Google Gmail (sending our emails).
- Stores and affiliate networks: we use Skimlinks, an affiliate network, to turn shop links into commission links. When you follow a shop link, you leave our site, and Skimlinks, the store or another affiliate network may use cookies to track the visit and any purchase, under their own privacy policies. Children
Whose Closet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our Kids section is for sharing children’s clothing ideas by adult members. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile and delete your posts, pieces, mixes and deals at any time.
- To delete your account and data, or to ask what we hold about you, email whoseclosetsupport@gmail.com.
- You can log out at any time. Clearing your browser storage signs you out on that device.
Keeping your data
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and content within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep something to comply with the law.
Security
Access to your data is controlled by security rules, private messages are end-to-end encrypted, and the site is served over HTTPS. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password or sign in with Google.
International members
Members can join from anywhere. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
